England captain Borthwick out of France match

England captain Steve Borthwick will miss their final Six Nations championship match against France at the Stade de France after failing to recover from an injured left knee.

In a statement on Friday, the Rugby Football Union (RFU) said Borthwick would be replaced by Louis Deacon.

Flanker Lewis Moody will captain the side and Tom Palmer comes on to the substitutes' bench. Borthwick, who had led England in 20 consecutive matches, aggravated an existing injury in England's 15-15 draw with Scotland last weekend and has not trained with the team all week.
