Warriena Tagpuno Wright plunged to her death in August.

Wellington woman Warriena "Rrie" Wright was allegedly taunted and choked, and begged for her life before falling to her death in Surfers Paradise, according to Australian media reports about court documents.

Lower Hutt woman Wright, 26, died in the early hours of August 8 when she fell from the 14th-storey apartment of Gable Tostee, a man she met that night via dating app Tinder.

Tostee, 28, has been charged with her murder, and is due to apply for bail in court on Monday.

According to Australia's 9News, documents filed in the Australian Supreme Court claim Tostee recorded audio on his phone on the night Wright died.

The audio appears to include voices of a man and woman socialising, and then arguing, and a struggle.

According to 9News, police will claim the sound of a door being slid open could then be heard as a woman says "no, no, no".

The recording includes a fading scream.

Tostee's parents have put up AU$200,000 (NZ$225,000) of surety money ahead of his bail application.

The court documents also allege that when Tostee's lawyer visited him in prison on Wednesday he had a bruise on his nose and a cut on his face. The lawyer said it was the result of an assault by a fellow inmate who had been persistently asking about the murder charge.

Tostee was now in protective custody as a result, 9News reported.
