Dear internet, name my baby
When you ask the internet to name your daughter, expect Megatron to be a serious contender.
Feeling overwhelmed by the prospect of naming a new person, Canadian father-to-be Stephen Mclaughlin started NameMyDaughter.com, which calls for name suggestions for his unborn child.
Almost 40,000 votes have been cast so far.
Megatron, Slagathor, and Streetlamp make the top 15 first names, and Salad, Doge, and Titanium are in the top 15 middle names.
However, things might not be all that bad for the future Mclaughlin - Amelia is rating tops for a first name and Mae as the favourite middle name.
The website's description says: "Hi, My name is Stephen and much to the disbelief of my wife, I have decided to let the internet name* my daughter."
"Yeah that is an asterisk, Unfortunately internet I know better than to trust you. We will ultimately be making the final decision, Alas my daughter shall not be named ;WackyTaco692."
McLaughlin said his wife would not allow a free for all.
He and his wife have also been answering questions on Reddit.
In response to a question about whether he would leave the name Xnorlaz as an option, he said he had to cut out some sexually transmitted infections from the list.
"So far I have only had to moderate several STIs and a couple of sexual positions... I would prefer not to have to remove anything from the list."
He also said he was surprised at how respectful people had been, regardless of the more creative names.
