An Argentine journalist was slapped by the other "hand of god" after he winked at Diego Maradona's partner.

The football great lost his cool when he was trailed by a large pack of journalists when attending a Buenos Aires theatre on Saturday.

After answering questions he climbed from his car, singled one of the journalists out, and slapped him.

Peruvian newspaper El Comercioquoted the 1986 World Cup winner as saying to the reporter, "What is it, fool. Why mess with my wife if I do not mess with you?"

Maradona entered football infamy when he illegally used his hand to score against England at the 1986 World Cup.

At the post-game press conference, Maradona denied cheating and said the goal was scored "un poco con la cabeza de Maradona y otro poco con la mano de Dios" ("a little with the head of Maradona and a little with the hand of God").

He helped steer that goal in with his left hand, while the slap was with his right.

Maradonna and partner Veronica Ojeda had been showing off his son Diego Fernando.
