A bullfight spun out of control in Colombia over the weekend, leaving 19 people injured, including two seriously.

The "corraleja" in Sabanalarga takes place at the start of October every year and is reported to have been an annual event in the municipality since 1920.

It is the one time a year amateur matadors are allowed to jump into the ring and taunt the bulls.

But this year, fuelled by drunkenness and a party-like atmosphere, many spectators found themselves gored after spilling into the ring.

Although no deaths have been reported this year, Colombia's correlejas have killed many spectators in previous years.
