A teacher in the United States has been suspended after tweeting nude pictures of herself to students and referring to one as "jailbait".

The 23-year-old math teacher from Colorado, Carly McKinney, started the twitter account @crunk_bear with the help of a friend, The Daily Mail reports.

From the account, she tweeted about getting high while she marked exams and being on twitter all day instead of being productive.

On one occasion, McKinney tweeted "Naked. Wet. Stoned," and later, "watching a drug bust go down in the parking lot. It's funny cuz I have weed in my car in the staff parking lot."

A student of McKinney's called her "Ms McCutie" on the social media site.

McKinney tweeted about the incident, saying "Just got called Ms McCutie.Point for being clever, however you are still jailbait."

Among several explicit photos tweeted by McKinney, one of them was of her doing a handstand wearing only a pair of lacy knickers.

It was retweeted by DJ Diplo to promote his new single Express Yourself, according to iDigital Times.

Though she claimed the account was created as a parody, it has been taken down, the Daily Mail said.

McKinney claims she did not know the account was being used for the explicit posts, and that her friend was the one tweeting them.

A spokesperson from the school district said an investigation into McKinney's conduct was underway.

Another official said teachers in the area were trained about social media, and told they should not tweet anything they would not want written on the classroom blackboard.
