A woman who stabbed her fiance to death just hours before their wedding has been found guilty of first degree murder.

According to NBC Philadelphia, Na Cola Franklin, 32, from eastern Pennsylvania, in the US, stabbed Billy Brewster several times last August after he reportedly came home drunk from an unplanned stag party, eight hours before the ceremony.

Franklin apparently didn't realize she had killed her fiance until later in the day.

When she was told he was dead, she apparently said: "You got to check again!"

Her lawyer, John Waldron, claimed that Mr Brewster had attacked Franklin and threatened to leave her and take their  9-month-old son with him.

Mr Brewster's body was found by the pastor who was to marry the couple.
