US woman lived with sister's corpse for more than one year
US police are investigating after a Massachusetts woman was found to have been living with her sister's corpse for more than a year.
The gruesome discovery came to light after a visiting cousin found the body under a kitchen table, amid lots of clutter, the CBS Boston reported.
Her body was in an advanced state of decomposition, said officials on Wednesday.
Lynda Waldman, 74, and her younger sister Hope Wheaton, 67, were known to be a reclusive pair whose Boston home was jokingly known by neighbours as a "haunted house".
Police had to inform Waldman of her younger sister's death even though she was still living in the house, CBS Boston reported.
The sisters were believed to have a hoarding issue, said the District Attorney's office, which has ruled out foul play.
The deceased woman had a history of illness.
