Slain woman feared for her life
Michelle Rowling knew what was coming.
Five days before a 25-year-old woman was stabbed to death she wrote a chilling note on Facebook predicting her own murder.
"SOOOOOOOO IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO ME TONIGHT JUST LET MY KIDS KNOW I LOVED THEM DEARLY AND TELL MY MOMMA I LOVE HER," Rowling of East St. Louis, Kansas, wrote November 25.
On Saturday she was found slain in her apartment at the Gompers Public Housing Complex, stabbed multiple times, KMOV.com reported.
Police are searching for Rowling's 25-year-old ex-boyfriend, Montrell Cooper, in connection with her death. Cooper had been jailed twice for assaults on Rowling and had threatened to kill her in the past, family members told Fox 2. He was released from jail on November 25.
"It's been an ongoing situation between them," East St. Louis Chief of Police Michael Floore told the New York Daily News.
"He stabbed her in the neck in 2012. Then he jumped on her again in August. Then he got out of jail."
Her friends hit Facebook to share their grief.
"Mannnnn I Wish She Would Of Told Somebody I Mean anybody Lordddd I Miss You Chelle!!!" one wrote.
Rowling left behind two young children. Cooper is the father of one of them, a 5-year-old girl.
"I LOVE MY TWO SOOOOOOOOO MUCH," she posted on Facebook later on November 25.
