A three-year-old girl who 'woke up' at her own funeral has reportedly died.

Video footage of the toddler waking in her coffin during her funeral on Sunday in the Philippines was posted online and quickly went viral.

Her name has not been released, but Aurora Police Senior Inspector Heidil Teelan confirmed the incident, The Philippine Star reported.

Teelan told the newspaper that one of the mourners removed the cover of the coffin to arrange the "remains" saw the girl's head move.

"This prompted them to check and confirmed the girl had pulse and was alive," he told the newspaper. He said the girl's parents took her to receive medical attention and then returned home with her.

He told the newspaper the parents had said the girl had been experiencing a severe fever for days and had been taken to a medical clinic on Friday, where she was pronounced dead on Saturday morning.

The video showed mourners at the funeral on Sunday in a state of commotion as the girl's father picked her up from the coffin.

After she returned home, the girl reportedly remained in a coma and later died. A second funeral was being planned.
