A New Zealand man has died in Thailand, according to local media. 

The Phuket Gazette reported a 68-year-old New Zealand man died early on Saturday at a condo in Patong, a beach resort on the west coast of Phuket Island. 

The condo was the home of a bar owner the foreigner met the night prior.

The bar owner called for help and performed CPR on the man until emergency services arrived, Lieutenant Colonel Weerapong Rakhito of the Patong Police said.

The man's body was taken to Patong Hospital.

On the same morning, Kiwi Muay Thai fighter Ariana Brown died in a motorbike crash in Phuket.

Thai police said she appeared to have missed a bend in the road and crashed into a tree.

Brown leaves behind two sons in their early twenties.
