Residents in central Myanmar who were left homeless after an earthquake hit the country on Sunday say they are living in fear of aftershocks.

The strong magnitude 6.8 quake killed at least a dozen people and destroyed buildings, temples and bridges.

Some people have sought shelter in tents after officials told them not to live under the big trees and high-rise houses.

The Ministry of Relief and Resettlement said more than 50 people sustained injuries and another four are missing.
