Indonesia's Sinabung volcano continues to erupt, spreading thick ash over nearby areas.

The Mt Sinabung volcano in western Indonesia continues to rumble to life.

The alert level in the area remains high as the volcano spews huge columns of ash.

Panicked villagers fled their homes, and sought refuge either with relatives or at temporary shelters provided by the government.
