The sign on the door says "closed for stocktaking" but it was more accurately a case of stock being taken at Sydney's CBD Prada store where ram raiders staged an overnight heist.
About 3am (Australian time) on Tuesday, police were called to the high-end retailer in Martin Place where a stolen Subaru WRX had rammed the doors.
Three men stole handbags, belts and other women's accessories, worth an undisclosed but significant amount of money.
The store remained closed on Tuesday after repairs to the shopfront, with a sign on the door: "Dear customers, we would like to inform you that we will be closed for stocktaking today."
Meanwhile, Detective Inspector Brad Hughes said the raid was organised and targeted particular items.
"We believe that they're new stock and they have been targeted ... ladies handbags and fashion accessories," he told reporters.
The theft was captured on CCTV and the footage is being reviewed by investigators.
"It depicts three offenders ... loading up significant amounts of property from the store," Insp Hughes said.
The men wore dark clothing at the time of the theft and had their heads covered by hoods.
The blue Subaru, stolen from the north shore "a few weeks ago" was last seen driving away from the store, south along nearby George Street, Insp Hughes said.
There have been similar attacks on other high-end retailers in the area over the past two years.
Police say it is too early to say whether the crimes are linked.
