Disgraced former NSW doctor Graeme Reeves may face 24 further charges of sexually assaulting and mutilating female patients, a Sydney judge has been told.

Reeves, 59, has already been ordered to stand trial on 69 charges covering the period July 1989 to July 2004, which include 16 counts of aggravated sexual assault.

Those 16 counts involve sexual intercourse with different complainants, without the woman's consent, and aggravated by him being their doctor.

Reeves is also accused of 11 counts of aggravated indecent assault, five of common assault, five of grievous bodily harm and 15 fraud-related charges.

Some of the alleged offences took place on the NSW south coast and others in Richmond, in Sydney's northwest.

In Sydney's Downing Centre District Local Court on Wednesday, police prosecutors told Judge Jonathan Williams there could be another 24 charges filed against Reeves.

They requested all charges laid against him be joined due to their similar nature and so they could all be considered d on the same trial date set for Reeves.

Judge Williams requested any fresh charges be filed by February 12.

The matter was stood over for mention on March 5.
