A 92-year-old woman will face a Sydney court today charged with murdering her 98-year-old husband.

Police found the elderly man's body in the lounge room of the couple's inner city apartment on Friday night.

His wife didn't apply for bail when she faced court via video link on Saturday and showed no recollection of what had happened.

The magistrate agreed she was apparently suffering from severe dementia and she was taken to a psychiatric facility ahead of today's appearance in Central Local Court.
