Angry shoppers have staged a citizen's arrest after chasing down a knife-wielding bandit who robbed a Queensland pharmacy.
The bandit used a knife to threaten staff at the Rockhampton pharmacy on Sunday afternoon.
He stole some medication and fled, but shoppers incensed by the bandit's brazen crime took off after him.
''Nearby shoppers chased the alleged man before a struggle ensued and he was prevented from leaving the area until police arrived a short time after,'' police said.
One of the shoppers suffered minor injuries during the incident.
Police later said a 27-year-old man had been charged with armed robbery. He will face the Rockhampton Magistrates Court today.
