Two Taiwanese nationals have been caught at Sydney Airport with 1.5 kilograms of the drug methamphetamine, or ice, hidden in their shoes.

Customs and Border Protection frisked the two men after they arrived in Sydney on a weekend flight from Hong Kong.

The agency said officers found 1.5kg of drugs concealed in the men's shoes.

The passengers and drugs have been referred to the Australian Federal Police for investigation.
