A tourist has been hospitalised after falling off a tower at a Port Arthur tourist spot.

The 30-year-old Tasmanian woman fell three metres from the old guard house tower in the Port Arthur Historic Sites shortly after 7pm (local time) on Boxing Day.

She was in a stable condition and responding when paramedics were called to the scene.

She was flown to a hospital in a satisfactory condition.
