Two young women looking as if they are dressed for the races have been caught on camera punching, kicking and spitting on an elderly Aboriginal man on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.

Shocked commuters looked on as the women screamed and punched the vision-impaired man, who was seen cowering against a window.

"Oh bro we're in Abo land," one of the women could be heard saying.

Some of the passengers yelled at them to "leave the poor man alone".

Another male passenger intervened and managed to force them off the bus, throwing their handbag after them.

Queensland police have located the 77-year-old victim, and said he intended to make a complaint.

The man suffered bruising to his arms.

Police were still working to identify the women.

The attack was filmed on a cellphone camera by a 13-year-old girl who was travelling on the bus.
