The third in line to the British throne Prince George is being feted with much fanfare ahead of his first birthday with what royal watchers want most: more pictures of the adorable little prince.

The royals obliged by releasing three photos taken by John Stillwell to mark the rambunctious prince's first birthday.

Over the weekend, the monarchy released the first image, which showed the little royal in a navy blue polo and striped overall shorts walking during a July 2 visit to the Sensational Butterflies exhibition at the Natural History Museum, for which his mother, Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, is a patron.

The other two images were released on this morning before an official birthday party is held at Kensington Palace (overnight NZT).

Legoland Windsor has also joined the partying, hosting its own 1st birthday party for the tot by erecting a Lego-made tea party, complete with a cake, gifts and guests.

The theme park also celebrated the wedding of George's parents in 2011 by re-creating the momentous event with the building blocks.
