An Italian air force transport plane has crashed onto train tracks near a military airport in the Tuscan city of Pisa, bursting into flames and killing its five-member crew.
Air force Col Mauro Gabetta said the C-130 was on a training flight and had been approaching the airport when it suddenly veered away and then crashed.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
The Pisa fire department said the plane crashed onto railway tracks, setting electrical wires on fire. There was no train in the area at the time.
