The Queen has reportedly offered Kate Middleton the use of her personal dresser to ensure the Duchess looks suitably elegant when she travels to New Zealand and Australia in April.

Her Majesty has offered the services of trusted staff member Angela Kelly to help Kate prepare for the trip, UK tabloid the Daily Mail reports.

Kelly will apparently assist the Duchess of Cambridge select  ‘‘statement jewellery and gemstones from the Queen’s personal collection’’.

‘‘Angela has been asked to start selecting jewels ahead of the trip,’’ a palace source told the Daily Mail.

‘‘She knows most of the pieces in the Queen’s private collection.

‘‘Her understanding is crucial because this trip will be about Kate appearing more royal than ever — you can expect to see a lot more tiaras and the Queen will be watching closely.’’

The newspaper speculates that Kate will require up to four outfits a day for the three-and-a-half-week trip Down Under with Prince William and, most likely, baby George.

She’ll probably deploy a couture wardrobe of day dresses with lower hemlines than previously favoured.

The Duchess may wear a diamond and ruby brooch in the form of a hibiscus flower — one of the unofficial emblems of Australia — that  was given to the Queen Mother in 1958.

Kate could also consider taking the Queen’s wattle brooch which was presented to Her Majesty on her Coronation Tour in 1954, the  Daily Mail reports.
