Crowd cheers as baby rescued from rubble
As the Syrian civil war rages, one moment of hope has been captured for all to see amid the death and destruction.
Video has surfaced on YouTube of rescue workers in the Syrian city of Aleppo apparently pulling a two-month-old baby girl from the rubble of a demolished building.
"It's a miracle!" one worker is heard crying as the screaming infant passes through a tidy hole amid the rubble of the country's most populous centre in the video posted by the Aleppo civil defence group.
"After 16 hours working under difficult conditions, the civil defence in Ansari (in southern Aleppo) was able to rescue a baby girl barely two months old as well as her mother who was injured," commentary to the video posted on YouTube July 11 said.
The rebel-held town's buildings has been reduced considerably through bombardments both from the government and opposition forces, but the 16-hour rescue operation left many residents screaming "God is great".
