A criminal hearing into a fire at a Doha mall which killed 19 people, including 2-year-old New Zealand triplets, may get under way today, Radio New Zealand reports.

Lillie, Jackson and Willsher Weekes died in May when the fire at the the Villaggio mall spread to the childcare centre where they had been left by their parents.

However, a reporter from Doha News told Radio NZ today some families were dubious the hearing would get under way as there are doubts the Gympanzee childcare centre may not turn up.

The hearing has already been postponed three times.
