Papua New Guinea hit by 6.5 quake
A magnitude 6.5 undersea earthquake has struck near Papua New Guinea, the US National Geological Survey has reported.
The quake struck at 8.28am local time (11.28 NZT) 125km west of Arawa, Bougainville, at a depth of 74km.
No tsunami warnings are in effect.
