Businesses without power after truck rolled on Great South Road
A small number of Auckland businesses are still without power after a truck-and-trailer carrying slabs of concrete rolled on Great South Rd.
Emergency services were called to the incident around 7.30am on Tuesday, near Station Rd in Penrose.
The truck driver was in a moderate condition, and was attended to by ambulance, a Fire and Emergency spokesman said.
The truck had hit an electricity pillar, "flattening" it, a Vector spokeswoman said. A street light had also been damaged in the crash.
Petrol from the truck had leaked over the road and Auckland Council had been notified to assist with sand, a police spokeswoman said earlier.
