72-year-old Minnie Holloway, who went missing on Friday evening, was found on Saturday morning.

An elderly Alzheimer's sufferer who went missing in Auckland overnight has been found.

Police said Minnie Holloway was located "safe and well" after 11am on Saturday morning, having disappeared from the Glen Eden area on Friday evening.

The 72-year-old was last seen at her home in Solar Rd around 9pm. Family members raised the alarm soon after.

Holloway had Alzheimer's disease and was known to only walk short distances, but police said she could have become lost or confused.
