The apartments initially had a troubled beginning for investors who bought them and were forced to settle after the 2008 financial crash, which also saw the bankruptcy of developer Kelly McEwan.

The acquisition of the management rights reflected the confidence of Swiss-Belhotel International in Queenstown and New Zealand, Faull said in a statement.

It is the second Queenstown property for Swiss-Belhotel International – the other is Swiss-Belresort Coronet Peak, now being refurbished and upgraded.
