Traffic delays due to Scarlett Johansson film
Wellington commuters experiencing sluggish traffic on Saturday can blame it on Hollywood.
Traffic around the city centre was moving slow on Saturday due to a part of Victoria St being closed while the Ghost in the Shell, featuring Scarlett Johansson, was being filmed.
A New Zealand Transport Agency spokeswoman confirmed the slow traffic was due to the road closure.
"There are currently some traffic delays around the Victoria St area due to a road closure for filming. While it is slow, traffic is still moving."
The street will be reopened on Monday morning.
Stout St was also closed as filming for the remake of Goodbye Pork Pie took place.
One lane on Jervois Quay was also closed due to Wellington's Relay for Life.
Based on the internationally acclaimed Japanese comic books of the same name, Ghost In the Shell follows a female cyborg who leads an elite task force called Section 9 to stop extremists from wiping out advancements in cyber technology.
The star has been keeping a low profile since arriving in Wellington in January, but has been seen at Miramar restaurants, eating some of the capital's gelato and training at a Lyall Bay gym.
The Wellington street will also be closed between 10pm on April 15 and 5am on April 18.
