Lorde dines with the diplomats at state lunch for Croatian president
First the Governor's Ball, and now Government House.
Lorde looks to be taking a break from her pop duties this week to mingle with dignitaries in Auckland.
The pop-star attended a lunch wth the president of the Republic of Croatia at a Government House function in Auckland, Saturday.
The Governor General, Dame Patsy Reddy, was hosting Croatian president Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic at a state welcome on Saturday. For the occasion, Reddy had invited a cast of famous Kiwi-Croatians to Government House, including Ella Yelich-O'Connor, better known as Lorde.
While back in Auckland, Yelich-O'Connor had otherwise been keeping quiet. She appeared to be indulging in a bit of gardening, and had even offered to trade lemons for bread in a wholesome pantry exchange initiated on Twitter.
In reply to a tweet asking if anyone would swap a vegetable for a loaf of bread, Lorde said: "I've got lemons and also I bake too much."
Yelich-O'Connor bought her first home at 19, picking up a $3 million property in central Auckland.
As well as the heated swimming pool, the house also came with a few homely extras, Lorde said. She told reporters in May about her penpal down the road. Lorde said they dropped cards in each other's letterboxes whenever she was in town.
Lorde is due to kick-off a sold out New Zealand tour in November, playing to theatres across the country.
