Why Olivia Munn had to pay for her cameo role in Ocean's Eight video

Rihanna, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett are all said to be involved in the female-driven spinoff of Ocean's Eleven.

Olivia Munn has revealed she had to pay for her own hair, makeup and wardrobe to appear in the upcoming Ocean's Eight film.

The Newsroom and X-Men actress told Entertainment Weekly Radio appearing in the all-female reboot of the Ocean's franchise made famous by George Clooney and Brad Pitt came at a price.

"It actually cost me money to be part of Ocean's Eight," she said.

"There's a whole scene at the Met Ball and they were like, oh, do your own glam. So I got the dress and all that and usually you submit the bills for it because I'm part of your movie. And they were like, oh, no, the bills come right back to you."

Kim Kardashian and her younger sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner were also among the famous faces spotted on the set during the fictional Met Gala red carpet filming.

Despite the financial hit, Munn says she's "just as excited about it as everybody else" about the film, which stars Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling and Sandra Bullock.

"It's going to be amazing," she said. "You see all these guys who keep falling up. They do crappy movie after crappy movie, and they keep getting more chances.  If you've got a female lead or a female director, you've got one shot."

Ocean's Eight will explore how the estranged sister of Danny Ocean (George Clooney) attempts to pull off a major heist at New York's annual Met Gala. Filming kicked off in October 2016, with the film set to hit cinemas mid next year.
