Jesus Christ added to fighting roster of new videogame Fight Of Gods
Popular religious figures Jesus Christ and Gautama Buddha are the latest deities to be added to a roster of fighters in new videogame Fight Of Gods.
First revealed in March this year, Fight Of Gods also features Zeus, Odin, Anubis, Shinto deity Amaterasu, lionised Chinese general Guan Gong and Moses.
Gaming publisher and distributor PQube saved the best for last however, announcing Jesus and Buddha as the latest additions to the game's fighting roster in their most recent press release.
"Existence itself is at stake," the release trumpets.
"When an unknown entity gathers the strongest gods and religious figures from throughout human history, mythological beings and holy icons must battle to uncover the truth and save the world.
"Who will prevail in the ultimate battle of gods?"
Wait - it gets better.
"Will Jesus, fresh from ripping himself off the sacrificial cross, smite all his foes with the power of his Punishment Fist?" the release rhetorically asks.
Depending on who they choose to fight as, players in Fight Of Gods can assault their opponents with various different items of religious iconography - Jesus for instance rips himself off the cross and uses wooden chunks of it still nailed to his arms as weapons.
Moses on the other hand uses the stone tablets inscribed with the Ten Commandments to strike down his enemies.
Developed by Taiwanese gaming studio Digital Crafter, Fight Of Gods will also be adding more fighters to its pantheon in the near future and has asked fans for suggestions at http://steamcommunity.com/app/612930, with the prophet Muhammad already looking to be a favoured new addition.
