Ozzy Osbourne cancels his New Zealand dates due to pneumonia

Ozzy Osbourne has cancelled his New Zealand concerts after contracting pneumonia.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy-winning singer has cancelled his NZ dates, as well as his Australian and Japanese tour dates planned for next month.

Recently, he'd had to postpone his entire UK and European 'NO MORE TOURS 2' tour due to Doctors' orders arising from Osbourne's recent illness.

"Ozzy recently developed pneumonia and has spent some time in hospital. Thankfully he is now through the worst part," says Sharon Osbourne.

Ticket holders for the Christchurch show at Horncastle Arena on Wednesday, March 13  are entitled to a full refund.  Tickets purchased by credit or debit card will be refunded in full (including ticket insurance premium, if relevant) and patrons do not need to take any action.

Patrons should allow up to 10 working days for the refund to appear in their account, a statement said. Those who purchased tickets with cash or EFTPOS will be contacted via phone in the next 7 days to arrange for a full refund. Further refund enquiries should be directed to ticketek.co.nz.

Meanwhile Auckland concert goers were told they were also eligible for a refund. "Those ticket holders who no longer wish to attend can arrange a refund by contacting Ticketmaster via: https://help.ticketmaster.co.nz/hc/en-nz," the organisers said.

A statement from the show's promoters wished Ozzy all the best in his recovery, but offered no hint as to whether the dates would be rescheduled later, as some other US dates have been.

"Promoters, Live Nation Australasia send all their love to Ozzy, Sharon and the wider Osbourne family and crew. We wish Ozzy all the best in his recovery and hope he is back to full health as soon as possible."

However, Judas Priest will still be playing Auckland's Spark Arena on Saturday March 16, with special guests to be announced.

The show will now be ticketed as general admission standing and unreserved seating.

All tickets will now be $99.00.
