13 new episodes of Wellington Paranormal will air in 2019
It seems 13 is a lucky number for the team behind TVNZ 2's hit show Wellington Paranormal.
New Zealand on Air has announced there will be a second season of the capital-set show, which investigates supernatural goings-on.
$5.09 million will be pumped into the next season of the acclaimed mockumentary comedy horror series.
"NZ's finest (and only) paranormal crime-fighting Officers will be back and protecting the streets of our capital in 2019!" NZ On Air announced.

"Wellington Paranormal demonstrated that comedy with a very local focus can pull significant mainstream audiences, against strong international content. It is really pleasing to see people respond positively to content that has such a unique New Zealand flavour," NZ On Air Chief Executive Jane Wrightson says.
The first episode of the inaugural season of Wellington Paranormal, which was a spin-off from the film What We Do In The Shadows, saw just under half a million Kiwis switch on to the spoof series.
It follows the antics of Officer O'Leary (Karen O'Leary), Sergeant Ruawai Maaka (Maaka Pohatu) and Officer Minogue (Mike Minogue) who comprise the Wellington Paranormal Unit.
Back in August, TVNZ said it would love to see another season of the show, after it ended its six part run.
"The audience response has been fantastic. We hope to bring the show back, but a second season has yet to be confirmed," a spokesperson said.
The series will once again broadcast on TVNZ 2 and TVNZ OnDemand, but there's no transmission date set yet.
The timing of a follow-up series could also well depend on the availability of in-demand executive producers Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement (who also directed at least half of the episodes) and the show's other director Jackie van Beek.
