'Irresponsible': Netflix slammed as trailer for new Gwyneth Paltrow show released
Netflix is facing backlash for its upcoming show The Goop Lab, which showcases Gwyneth Paltrow's controversial lifestyle brand.
The streaming giant has released a trailer for the six-part series, in which the star guides viewers through an array of wellness topics, including energy healing, psychedelics, psychic mediums, and orgasms.
"We're here one time, one life, how can we really milk the s... out of this?" the 47-year-old actress says in the minute-long trailer.
A Netflix Twitter account also shared a promotional image for the series, showing Paltrow standing inside what appears to be a cartoon vagina with the caption: "Reach new depths".

Goop, which Paltrow founded in 2008, has frequently come under fire for its dubious health claims.
In 2018, the company had to pay US$145,000 (NZ$218,000) after claiming products such as jade and rose quartz eggs, designed to be inserted into the vagina, had medical benefits.
Within 12 hours of its release, the trailer had been viewed on Twitter almost 900,000 times. Online commentators were quick to label the show "dangerous" and "irresponsible".
"This appears to be a multimillion dollar ad for a scammer that rips off women for millions of dollars every year," wrote one viewer on YouTube.
"Why is Netflix promoting this scam artist oh my god," wrote another.
Prominent gynaecologist Dr Jen Gunter, one of Goop's most vocal critics, shared her response to the trailer with Bustle.
"This looks like classic Goop: some fine information presented alongside unscientific, unproven, potentially harmful therapies for attention, with the disclaimer of 'We're only having conversations!'" she said.
Gunter told the website that Netflix had passed on her own health show, Jensplaining, which now streams on CBC.
The Goop Lab will be released on Netflix on January 24.
