Why you'd keep your DIY tools so close to your beauty shelf we'll never know, but we do know that it does not result in great grooming.

Accidentally going orange instead of blonde. That 'quick' fringe trim that ends halfway up your forehead. Shirley Temple ringlets instead of Victoria's Secret waves.

We've all had terrible DIY hair disasters in the past, but spare a thought for this woman who may have topped them all.

The mystery woman, believed to be from Eastern Europe, ended up in hospital after confusing expanding builder's foam for her hair mousse.

And she looks just as happy about the situation as you'd expect, sat in A&E wearing her polyurethane helmet.

We can commiserate - there's so many products out there, it can be easy to get mixed up (we've definitely smeared on cooking oil instead of serum in the past).

The snap of the unknown woman surfaced on the internet on Tuesday, and has since been shared around the world on every social media site imaginable.

Is it Photoshopped? Who knows, but it provides a cautionary tale nonetheless.

We'll be taking extra care reading labels from now on.
