We love this journalist who shows what real women would look like in top fashion ads

When you look at a high-fashion advert, what do you see? Chances are your answer will include the world "unachievable".

But one woman is on a brave and equally funny quest to show just what it would look like if the average woman replaced top models in campaigns.

In her Spoof series, French photographer and journalist Nathalie Croquet recreates luxury advertisements from brands such as Givenchy, Isabel Marant and Lanvin.

The project, which she documents on Instagram, sees Croquet in the shoes of models such as Kate Moss and Gisele Bundchen, nailing their exact style and pose.

And it sure takes a braver woman than us to literally compare herself with the world's most well-known models.

"In the ads the models are super retouched. The confrontation of the two images create a confusion in the viewers' mind. Do they prefer to see a beautiful woman sell the product or do they like to see a normal person showing the product? All I know is that I am not going to change the world of advertising," she told Maan of the Hour.

Croquet's previous experience as a photo editor meant she was able to go the whole way in producing professional shots which mimicked those of high-end adverts.

She proves she has quite the eye for detail, with every aspect of the recreations pretty much bang on, from a loose lock of hair over the eyes to identical beauty looks and bored expressions.

"Women, consumption, retouching, cosmetics, ageing, beauty, those all come to mind, but truly those issues are up for debate," she told BuzzFeed.

"I feel people need a more spiritual approach to life, and good fun.

"I'm happy to give them that, even if I'm just making fun of myself."

The results are both telling and hilarious.

Croquet, you're our new fashion hero.
