All-white sneakers have been a sartorial must-have for a while now, but I've been noticing a surprise player creeping up the style sidelines lately - the white heel.

Internationally, the trend seems to have begun with white ankle boots, but that one didn't quite make it to our shores in time for winter. But now the focus is on heels - and the good news for us is it's taking off here too.

While it may not be the most practical of hues, the appeal is in how clean and fresh they make an outfit look, not to mention how versatile they are - once you start to get used to the idea anyway.

"It girls" are wearing them with everything from vintage denim to slick suits or as a punctuation point for an all-print outfit - breezy dresses, blouse and pant combos and jumpsuits in particular.

Another option as we move into warmer weather is to go tonal and team your white heels with an all-white ensemble for maximum impact.
