Graham Norton's new reason to fizz
The marketing gurus at Kiwi start-up Invivo Wines have launched their annual Graham Norton vintages with a new twist this year.
Bubbles - or Prosecco to be more precise - is on the drinks menu this year alongside Norton's blend of Sauvignon Blance, Rose and Shiraz.
Invivo cofounder Tim Lightbourne and winemaker Rob Cameron recently travelled to London for an afternoon blending session with Norton and have released a video of the day's activities.
So how does Norton describe this year's work?
Graham Norton's Own Sauvignon Blanc is his "perfect blend… and it's lovely… tropical fruit, a bit of zing… cheers to that!"
His Graham Norton's Own "Pink by DesiGN" Rose "brings all the boys to the yard", while he says the Graham Norton's Own Shiraz 2017 is "a bold, juicy wine full of character… just like its winemaker. Me."
Lightbourne said the partnership is more than just a celebrity hook up as Norton takes a very hands on approach to the wine development.
From 14,000 bottles produced in 2014 to more than 2 million forecast for 2017, demand for the wine has increased exponentially, he said. Since 2016, production has increased by 500,000 bottles.
Along with New Zealand, USA, Australia, UK and Ireland, where Norton is well known, the wines have recently launched in Norway, Denmark, Hong Kong and Japan.
