Dwindling congregation numbers might have caused James Spicer Memorial Church Hall's closure, but that wasn't the end of the 127-year-old building.

The church, located in Chigwell, Essex, was purchased in 2013 by interior designer Gianna Camilotti and transformed into a luxurious two bedroom home and office.

The conversion, which included the addition of a spiral staircase and loft bedrooms, has won several interior design awards and now it is available to rent for £3900 (NZ$7113) per month.
