Chrissy Teigen asks parents to share their 'mean kid' stories
One of the things we find so endearing about kids is that they have no filter. They just blurt out whatever is on their minds. This is also one of the worst things about kids too.
My five year old was being particularly helpful in taking dishes to the kitchen after dinner recently, and when I thanked her she told me, "You're pretty old and you need the help. After all, you're going to die soon."
But it's nice to know even Chrissy Teigen has moments like that too.
Although she didn't share exactly what went down, clearly one-year-old daughter Luna was running rings around her mum recently.
She tweeted to her 7.5 million followers asking them to share their stories of woe:
I am having a very rough day and it would help me a lot if any moms would like to share stories of their kids being mean to them— christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) September 23, 2017
And wow, did they deliver!
My 4 year old son asked me why I was putting on makeup and I said "To make me look pretty." He replied "I don't think it's working."— Chutup (@Chutup) September 23, 2017
My 13 month old says "dada" but every time I ask "can you say mama?" she looks me in the eyes, says "no" very clearly and then laughs— Emma Span (@emmaspan) September 23, 2017
my one year old son tells me no every time I kiss him 😩— Bee Money (@beeboujee) September 23, 2017
my four year old recently shouted at me "I hope you get a sunburn"— elise blaha cripe (@eliseblaha) September 23, 2017
My 15 month old just learned how to karate chop me in the throat so that's been fun— Kristin Thomas (@Krriss10) September 23, 2017
I hugged my 3 year old and she was like "did you like that hug?" And I said yes and she said "I am never hugging you again." And walked away— Ali (@VTAliTriumphant) September 23, 2017
And as demoralising as each of these incidents must have been to the parents at the time, there's a solidarity that comes from sharing them, and knowing that you're not alone.
