Prince Harry will wait until December to announce engagement to Meghan Markle
Prince Harry will announce his engagement to actress Meghan Markle in December, according to a royal insider.
While it has been widely speculated that the prince would propose to the Suits star while on holiday in Botswana this month, a former member of Princess Diana's household says the couple will wait till the end of the year to announce their plans.
Darren McGrady, once chef to Princess Diana and her two sons, told Hello magazine that the pair would not want to overshadow other big family events, including the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana's death next week and Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip's platinum wedding anniversary in November.
If the couple announced their engagement in December, Markle could join the royal family at Sandringham for Christmas, said McGrady, who noted similarities between the American actress and late princess.

"Everything that I've seen of her, I think she's amazing and I think Harry's picked someone like his mum... She's amazing with children, she has that compassion, I think she's stunning, she's going to be a clothes horse."
A December engagement would also leave all of 2018 available for a wedding, McGrady said.
