Australian bride swaps flowers for doughnut bouquets
This Australian bride could not be blamed for being reluctant to toss her bouquet.
Instead of beautifully arranged flowers, Paige Kirk opted for a bouquet of posh pastries to be carried on her big day. She surprised her bridesmaids with the quirky alternative, who also held the doughtnut bouquets.
It was something she and her husband, Steven, thought would be fun and different, the 23-year-old told BBC.
"Everyone thought it was hilarious, and the venue couldn't believe it," she said.
"Brides should be a bit more relaxed and have fun!"
The bouquets were donated in a competition by a company that wanted to create an alternative to flower gifts. Paige was the first bride to take the arrangements down the aisle.
