Nativity Scout associate member Bruce Petrie says there will initially be four double and six single canoes on offer allowing 14 paddlers on the water at once.

"Scouts wanted to give back to the community at no cost to use the canoes, rafts, gear, vests, helmets and we were also keen to support council's Riverside Park project.

"We have a scout adventure camp site that needs $1000 per year to cover maintenance costs so we'll have barbecue food and drinks for sale too.

"We are so lucky to have the Taylor River within the reserve and this is a great way to be able to utilise it. These days are aimed at 4-year-olds upwards and there will be a chill out area for teenagers.

"There will be vest sizes to fit all and lots of fun to be had," Petrie says.
