Most people had probably never heard of the Rimac Concept One until Richard Hammond wrecked it.
It's an all-electric powerhouse worth millions that is the brainchild of 29 year old Rimac Automobili CEO Mate Rimac from Croatia.
The team at Drive Time have put together the above video clip to better demonstrate the power and finesse of this rare supercar.
The Concept One was unveiled publicly in 2012 with the news that only 88 examples would be built.
This unique new electric hyper car has the capability of producing the astronomical equivalent of 1088 bhp due to its 92-kWh battery, which powers four sets of electric motors, placed at each wheel. All four systems can operate independently and accelerate and decelerate hundreds of times per second. Rimac labels this as All-Wheel Torque Vectoring (AWTV).
The Concept_One's performance is shattering with 0-96kmh in just 2.8 seconds.
"We started with a blank sheet of paper. The idea was to create an exceptional supercar with a new propulsion concept," Rimac said when the car was unveiled.
"What we have here is a fully-fledged hypercar that is as powerful as a Bugatti, as stylish as a Ferrari, and as luxurious as a Mercedes, all while managing to forsake even the tiniest sip of gasoline."
