Bar worker assaulted during violent robbery on Auckland's North Shore
A man with a gun assaulted a female worker while robbing an Auckland bar.
Waitemata Police said the man also threatened patrons during the aggravated robbery of Vinos Karaoke Bar in Rosedale on Thursday.
He assaulted the worker "despite the fact that she was complying with everything he [had] asked her to do", detective sergeant Nick Salter said.
The man then stole "a sum of cash" and was last seen heading south along William Pickering Drive on foot, away from Rosedale Rd.
The incident unfolded about 6.45pm.
"The area was reasonably populated at the time with people travelling home from work or visiting other local bars and restaurants in the immediate area," Salter said.
"Someone may have seen this brazen act or may have CCTV in the area that may have captured the offender preparing before the robbery or leaving immediately after."
Salter asked anyone with information, "no matter how small or insignificant you may think it is", to come forward.
They were asked to phone him on 021 813 714 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
