Suspicious fire at Hastings warehouse on Saturday night

Hastings police are appealing for information from people who might have seen anything suspicious in the area.

Hastings police are appealing for information from people who might have seen anything suspicious in the area.

A suspicious fire at a warehouse in Hastings caused major damage to the warehouse and a building next door. 

Police and fire crews attended the blaze on the corner of Williams St and Nelson St North, at about 10pm on Saturday.

No one was injured.

Detective Amy Bryant of Hastings police said they were appealing for information about the fire or anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area to contact Hastings Police on 06 873 0500.

"It's a reminder for members of our community to look out for each other, and report anything unusual.

"We would rather hear something and it turn out to be nothing, than miss a vital piece of information."
