Husband 'struggling for answers' after wife dies in Christchurch apartment
Police have ramped up their investigation into the "unexplained" death of a Christchurch woman.
Neighbours heard a couple argue loudly for several hours on Monday morning before the woman was found dead in her hallway.
Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Cottam said on Tuesday, police were treating the 28-year-old's death as unexplained.
On Wednesday, a mobile police base was parked outside the home, with forensics staff examining inside the property.
Cottam said the cause of death was still "unknown".
The woman's husband was "struggling for answers as we are".
"We're carrying out a routine scene examination and we're still carrying out a coronial investigation."
Police had interviewed the man and he had given a full account. Emergency services were called to the couple's apartment on Selwyn St, near Hagley Park, on Monday morning.

When St John staff arrived about 9.10am, they found the woman dead in a hallway with her partner performing CPR on her.
Neighbour Courtney Carson earlier told Stuff she heard the woman and her partner arguing from about midnight to 3am on Monday. She heard further yelling about 5.30am.
"They were just arguing really badly and really loudly. It sounded like things being thrown around and doors being slammed."
The woman's name would not be released until her family in India had been notified.
