A 16-year-old boy is one of five people arrested in relation to a series of aggravated robberies involving cash in transit vans across Auckland.

Three of the four incidents targeted vans that were uplifting cash from commercial premises over a three-month period in the suburbs of Mt Roskill, Royal Oak and Mt Wellington.

The fourth robbery in Papatoetoe targeted a foreign cash exchange premise.

Police arrested two 25-year-old men, a 26-year-old man, a 22-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy.

The offenders face a raft of charges including aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and unlawful taking of a vehicle.

But police were still looking for other offenders who were involved, Detective Sergeant John de Heer said.

Crimes of this nature are upsetting and traumatic for those involved and these offenders need to be held to account," he said.

Police are not ruling out further arrests and additional charges are likely.
